Painting called "A Rose for Mommie" painted by someone named " A or F Sophia"?
Picture is of a young blonde girl with a white scarf and in camel-colored coat and tam sitting on a stone bench smelling a red rose. She is wearing dark FABRIC STOCKINGS and brown ankle high shoes.
We can find no information about this and are curious about it. Anyone know anything else or where we can find info? We have looked all over the web to no avail.
This painting is very haunting and we found it in an antique shop.

Right off the bat, I'm no expert, just have been art enthusiast but I may, may quicken your process of finding out.
There are some free evaluations sites by art galleries on the net like located at NJ & around US, but I dont know if they'd do exactly what you want for your painting and for free. Since you've looked all over the web, you must know them by now.

Dont respond to her e-mail address without asking on that web-base as she says (disclaimer). Hope she's still around. Based on the comments she is getting as recent as now(June 2008), looks like she is still around, having helped many. What an awesome person-!!!
