What is a good substitute for tomatoes in a lobster cream soup?
I've posted the recipe below. My dad is allergic to tomatoes and I'm trying to find a replacement for lobster bisque made with the remains of the day Saturday. I think tomatillos but I sure think they are. Any ideas Adapted? Lobster bisque from Cuisine at Home Makes 6-7 cups; can be easily duplicated lobster tails 2 (10 oz). respectively, split in half 4 cups water 1 tablespoon sea or kosher salt 2 Tablespoons olive oil 2 cups dry white wine 3 cups of broth chicken 4 cup unsalted butter / 1 plus 1 tablespoon 1 cup fennel, chopped 1 / 2 cup onion, chopped 1 cup fresh tomatoes, peeled, seeded, diced 2 Tablespoons brandy 2 tablespoons raw white rice 1 tablespoon tomato paste 1 teaspoon paprika 1 / 8 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 bay leaf 1 stalk thyme 1 / 2 cup heavy cream 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (Full article @ Http://www.huffingtonpost.com/one-for-the-table/this-lobster-bisque-is-be_b_242686.html)
