RGB or CYMK for printed materials? Resolution (DPI)?
I need to print some tickets and promo materials for an event my school is doing in March'09. They will be printed on either gloss surfaced hard-card PAPER STOCK (like nice event flyers) or some other paper medium. For designing these is it better to us CYMK color or RGB color AND WHY???
Also, I was going to start at 600DPI for the resolution, but that might be a bit big; don't know, but I think it depends on how high of a resolution the printers (i.e. at Kinko's or wherever) will support, yes? No?
You should use CMYK, because that is the color model used by printers. RGB is the color model used for displaying content on devices like monitors. They might look the same, but there are subtle differences.
I would go 300DPI.
