Is there any trading halt after a REVERSE STOCK split on OTCBB?
After your stock reverse splits.. is there a halt period for current investors that hold the stock to trade or can they drop there shares right away?
ron.. your right in a way. however, 75% of all reverse splits tank shortly after and return to the original rate before the split. especially in the OTCBB. my question is basically is there a 72 hour hold before you can sell your shares or anything if you get STUCK holding going into a reverse split.. the price usually goes up for a few days then drops steadily.. maybe that not the same on the big markets but thats how it works on th octbb.. a reverse split is a HUGE red flag..
Your absolutely right that reverse splits destroy wealth. I attach the original Chambers article on the matter. However, if the announcement is made outside of market hours there is no need for a halt. Most firms, nowadays, would avoid such an announcement during market hours. However, OTCBB stocks are not as regulated as LISTED STOCKS and I could see how this could be a problem.
Another problem of transprency in the OTCBB market.
